Owls are likely my most popular woodcarvings. I have carved many of the owl species of North America over the past several years. My personal favorites are the Barred Owl and the Snowy Owl. Both of these are fairly large birds with soft, rounded features. I attempt to present the soft feathering of these birds by carefully detailing the veining of each feather. Click on any of the images to view a specific species. Then click for a larger close-up look at the feather detail of each carving.
