New Carvings! I've added some of the pieces I'm currently working on as the Fall-Winter season rolls into the Northwoods. At the top of page is one of the most unusual pieces I have ever been commissioned to do. It's an 8' tall white pine tree with a Peregrine Falcon perched at the very top. This piece will eventually hold a rural mail box on the right side lower branch. This carving was safely delivered to Roanoke, Virginia before Thanksgiving.

The Red Tailed Hawk carving is now complete. It just sold in early December. The butternut timber I used for this piece is very unique. A Northern Hawk Owl that I used to demonstrate my carving technique at this past summers art fairs is also nearing the end of the carving stage. This piece also sold in December 2011.

I have my first ever carving of a Common Loon roughed-out of Butternut and now starting into the detailing stage.

A new Barn Owl has been created from a large Willow log. He is now available.  And another Barn Owl is now final and this one was created from Box Elder. It has a rustic folk art style to the piece. Both carvings are available for purchase.

My first ever Burrowing Owl is underway. This is a commissioned piece carved from Birch.

There are two other pieces that I have started from Birch... both are small Boreal Owls  (these owls are about 10" long). Both are now available for purchase. One other new Birch carving is a small Screech Owl designed as a wall hanging piece. This wall piece is now complete and photos were recently posted. It just sold in early December 2011.

The Barred Owl is being carved from Basswood. He is nearing the 70% carved satge. Please come back and visit again soon!
